Luanda - Citizens with disabilities have called for the improvements in mobility, road safety and access to public transport policies.
The appeal was launched this Friday at the consultation meeting with the organisations that offer assistance to the people with disabilities, as part of the Long-Term Strategy - Angola 2050.
At the session, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Planning and UNICEF, the participants reported the pressing issues affecting the group on daily basis.
They proposed the inclusion in public schools of conditions to receive students with autism and the visually impaired, the construction of more ramps throughout the cities for wheelchair users.
The also raised concern about the lack of the public transport system accessible for the people with disabilities as well as more vacancies in the job market, especially in public companies, among other issues.
Speaking to the press, the Secretary of State for the Economy, Ivan Marques dos Santos, praised the event, stating that this initiative served to collect many contributions from this group. ECC/MDS/ART/CF/NIC
