Luanda - Angolan researcher and inventor Hélder Silva honored former oil minister Desidério Costa Tuesday in Luanda with two diplomas and a gold medal won in Romania for helping him grow professionally.
Hélder da Silva said Desiderio Costa had been his "right-hand man" over the years and that was why he had decided to honor him.
The honoree thanked him for the recognition and recalled his career as a student in Romania.
Hélder Silva was born on September 15, 1969 in Cuanza Sul province and graduated in Electrotechnics in Portugal. He is a representative of the Angolan association of inventors and innovators in Portugal
As a result of his inventions, mainly in the magnetic field, Hélder Silva has more than 30 medals.
Among his honors are the gold medals he won for inventing a system to save gas and electricity in boilers and heat accumulators.
Desidério Costa is an Angolan politician who was born on 4 April 1934 in Luanda province.
He was Minister of Petroleum from 2002 to 2008. He had previously been deputy minister of petroleum 1984 to 2002. AMC/ART/DAN/AMP
