Luanda - The resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Angola, Zahira Virani, this Tuesday, in Luanda, called on the private sector to collaborate in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking at the meeting to present the cooperation framework for the private sector, the official considered this as an essential and fundamental partner in achieving the goals of the 2023 agenda, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.

"We’ll not be able to achieve the goals that are within the framework, that is why we need partnership, because it is not the United Nations and Governments that create jobs", she explained.

She said she intends to seek innovative partnerships, mainly with the private sector, whose role is essential in building a sustainable, equitable and inclusive future for Angola.

She highlighted that in this process the agility, innovation and investment capacity of the private sector are crucial to boosting the SDGs, because their involvement brings new approaches to financing and delivery, with the United Nations playing a fundamental role in creating environments conducive to companies contributions on the sustainable development.

She explained that his objective is to leverage these forces, ensuring that each business and investment practice is aligned with sustainable and inclusive development, benefiting all Angolans and contributing to global sustainability objectives.

She mentioned that the private sector is essential for fostering innovation, building partnerships, promoting responsibility and aligning business practices with the SDGs.

For her, this collective effort is essential in building prosperous and resilient businesses, economies and societies for all.

She highlighted that based on successful models, her team takes advantage of a spirit of innovation and resilience to join forces in Angola's transformation.

The immediate challenges, she stressed, are to establish the foundations for lasting prosperity and well-being, as they have the opportunity to drive environmental sustainable growth.
