Menongue - The National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP) in Cuando-Cubango and the Nucleus of the local Lev' Arte literary movement, made official, yesterday, in Menongue, a strategic partnership through the signing of the Memorandum of Service for the promoting entrepreneurship among young people.
This is a partnership for the training of more than a thousand young people in the areas of entrepreneurship, administration and finance, accounting, preparation of business plans, personal and business finances, business, sales, digital marketing, sales, Excel, music and its specialties, dance and contemporary arts, poultry farming, among other courses.
The partnership between the two institutions is for an indefinite period.
Speaking to the press at the end of the activity, the coordinator of Lev, Arte no Cuando-Cubango, Justino Kaputo, said that members of the movement will be trained and these, in turn, will have the obligation to train other young people in the same areas, so to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment among youth.
He explained that the purpose of this contract is to cooperate within the scope of professional training and the employability of members of Movimento Lev, Arte in Cuando-Cubango and non-members, as well as the participation of members and non-members in the cultural and training moments of the institute.
It also aims to provide members with relevant knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship in different areas of know-how, in order to generate more employment among young people in the province and offer courses and cultural – artistic tools.
He made it known that in Cuando-Cubango the Cultural Literary Movement has 45 members and has received support through partnerships with public and private institutions and individuals.
On the occasion, the head of INEFOP's provincial services in Cuando-Cubango, Xavier Chicuata, highlighted that the partnership aims to encourage young people to entrepreneurship and constitutes an added value for the socio-economic development of the province.
He explained that INEFOP, since its existence in Cuando-Cubango, in 2005, has 28 courses in the national system and 50 within the scope of PAPE, initially covering the municipalities of Menongue, Cuito-Cuanavale and Cuchi, having allowed the training of 10,663 young people, launched into the job market.
For this 2024 training cycle, at the level of the 4 training units, 722 young people attend professional courses at the institution in various short and long-term specialties, with emphasis on the mobile unit located in the Menongue Penitentiary Service, where around 125 inmates are being trained.
Xavier Chicuata assured that INEFOP will continue to promote training activities for the criminal population, as a way of contributing to the prisoner's rehabilitation process in society.
The local INEFOP is also, according to the chairperson, creating quality jobs and entrepreneurial activities that aim to leverage the development of the country's innovation systems to promote new, more competitive and sustainable solutions. Lmz/ALK/PLB/CF/DOJ
