Luanda –At least 123 young women of Viana, Cazenga and Talatona municipality, in Luanda, have received training on associativism and local development through the Action for the Promotion and Participation of Women and Young People in Public Life.
Speaking to ANGOP, the project manager, Filipe Ndofula, said the training is part of the Program to Support Civil Society and Local Administration in Angola – PASCAL.
He underlined that the initiative has been developed over the last three months by a consortium between the Association for Women and Children (AMC) and the Youth Association for Community Support (AJACOM), with the support of the Angolan government and funding from the European Union.
Filipe Ndofula stressed that the training courses covered topics such as "Associativism", "Preventive health", "Development" and "Lobbying and advocacy" and that the aim was to enable young people to participate in public management and decision-making.
He underscored the importance for citizens to be able to contribute to the development of a more democratic, ethical and just society, making contributions that are equal to the challenges.
The training sessions aimed at young women leaders, religious, representatives of the municipal administration and other social actors. HM/QCB/TED/AMP
