Luanda – Angolan professionals may be trained, starting this year, in a postgraduate course in the area of technology by the National Telecommunications Institute of Brazil (INATEL), said this Thursday, in Luanda, its representative, Leonardo Maia.

Speaking to the press at the end of a visit to the Angolan Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), the official said that this training is part of the recent renewal of the cooperation protocol between INATEL and the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), as part of the Angotic2023 event.

Leonardo Maia said that the agreement, without a time horizon and exact number of people to be trained, will, at first, take place in Angola with two postgraduate classes of 30 to 40 students with a degree in the area, with trained Brazilian and Angolan teachers in Brazil.

The official stressed that the agreement also includes training, engineering, master's and doctoral degrees for Angolan students in Brazil, as well as advisory services for the implementation of digital television and the implementation of 5G technology, consultancy and work in entrepreneurship.

Therefore, he considered it important to renew the partnership, as it covers several areas of technology such as digital television, advanced regulation in telecommunications and 5G technology, which are the new areas of communication technologies.

He pointed out that this partnership could involve, on the other hand, professionals from INACON, from MINTTICS, telecommunications operators and students from ITEL.

He recalled that the first agreement was signed in 2007, allowing the training of 50 students in Brazil, in master's and doctoral courses in telecommunications.

He added that there were, at that time, 15 Angolan students in Brazil, in master's and doctoral courses in telecommunications. SJ/ART/CF/jmc
