Huambo – The Government of the province of Huambo is working on creating conditions for the relocation of the 129 families that currently reside in the former FAPA building, due to the advanced state of degradation.
The information was provided to the press on Tuesday by the head of the Housing department in Huambo, Wilson Jordão Daniel, highlighting that the multi-sectoral technical team, made up of specialists from the Ministry of Construction, Urbanism and Housing and the local government, resumed rehousing work in the Fernando Faustino Muteka centrality, in Caála, is being carried out quickly.
He said that the situation of the building, especially the former Fapa, based on data from the Angola Engineering Laboratory (LEA), presents greater concern, with a very high rate of cracks, resulting from the shocks caused by bombs during the armed conflict.
As for the Anghotel building, inhabited by 55 families, Wilson Jordão Daniel said the team from the Angola Engineering Laboratory was highly technical and in-depth, so that decisions for the possible evacuation of the building could be made in a more assertive manner.
A representative assured that the Anghotel and Energia buildings, the latter with 45 residents, are not very serious, pending the report of the definitive careful study by the LEA.
In the city of Huambo, capital of the province with the same name, three buildings are under control, which are at risk of collapsing, as they are in an advanced state of degradation and which house more than 200 families.
These are the former FAPA buildings, with 129 families, Anghotel (55) and Energia (45).
The situation of these buildings, especially the former FAPA and Anghotel, based on data from the Angolan Engineering Laboratory, presents greater concern and, as a result, the Ministry of Construction, Urbanism and Housing is working on the relocation plan of the families living there in the near future.
