Malanje- Malanje governor Marcos Nhunga reiterated Tuesday the need to redouble attention to the works under the Integrated Intervention Plan for Municipalities (PIIM), in order to finalize them.
The governor spoke of the need for an urgent monitoring of the works, while full commitment is expected from the Provincial Infrastructure Office and all related areas of the government.
Marcos Nhunga made the statement at the swearing-in ceremony of the directors of the Provincial Office of Infrastructure and Technical Services, Jorge Manuel and the Office of the Vice-Governor for the Technical and Infrastructure Sector, Isaías Pedro, heads of departments from different Provincial Offices and deputy communal administrators.
The governor urged those taking office to be committed to resolving the problems of the population, especially in the communities.
Jorge Manuel, director of the Provincial Office of Infrastructure and Technical Services, said that there will be a serious commitment to conclude the 52 missing PIIM works by the end of this year, as well as combating the 156 ravines catalogued in the province.
As regards to ravines, he emphasized that although it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works and Urbanism, the local government has been working together to stop them, at a time when work is underway in some municipalities. NC/PBC/TED/AMP
