Caxito - The delegate of the Home Affairs Ministry and provincial commander of the National Police in Bengo province, commissioner Delfim Kalulu Inácio, defended the strengthening of the personnel’s education on patriotic, moral and legal fields.
It is necessary to make the staff aware of what the mission of the corporation is, clarified the commissioner when speaking at the end-of-year greetings ceremony, which took place today in Caxito.
He recalled that, as civil servants, the mission of the National Police personnel is the pursuit of the common good.
“We have to respect the citizen; our activity is based on respect for the citizen and we cannot turn the policeman into an enemy. The policeman must be the citizen's most reliable friend,” he said.
The delegate recalled that the events that have devastated the corporation in recent days (accusation of rape of a pregnant woman by three agents of the National Police) are a wake-up call for better control of the workforce.
“We must recognize that the accusation made against our personnel does not only dirty the personnel themselves, the municipal or provincial command or the Home Affairs delegation, but the entire corporation,” he stressed. CJ/IF/DOJ
