Luanda - The Social Policy Commission of the Cabinet Council assessed Tuesday the draft Presidential Decree approving the National Reading Plan 2024-2027.
The aim of the document is to make reading widespread among the population, turn access to reading easy, train reading mediators, value reading and increase its symbolic value and create an Angolan literary corpus.
According to the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, the plan contains the actions and targets to be achieved, giving positive contribution to the implementation of public policies to improve the quality of education and meet the objectives of sustainable development.
The meeting led by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Dalva Ringote, considered the draft Presidential Decree creating the Manuel Rui Cultural Centre in Huambo province.
The institution is designed to collect, preserve and disseminate the different values of Angola's cultural heritage, as well as promoting the production of material goods and services of an educational nature.
Filipe Zau, Minister of Culture and Tourism, said that the centre would also aim to spread a taste for national culture, encouraging the participation of the community in vocational courses, seminars and lectures in the arts, sciences and on national and international historical figures. LIN/ART/AMP
