Caxito – Vissolela Pinheiro and Muene Txi Vunga, from the municipalities of Dande and Ambriz, are the representatives of the province of Bengo at the National Children's Meeting, which will take place in Luanda, on the 28th of this month.
They are children aged 11 and 15 who attend 4th grade and were elected today at the provincial meeting of the Bengo Children's Parliament.
The deputies expressed their desire to freely express their opinions, at the national meeting, on issues that concern children in the province.
The Bengo Children's Parliament had the participation of children from the province's six municipalities and aimed to encourage children to have a free vision, as a subject of rights, with the guarantee of receiving all the information and advice necessary to make a decision in favor of their children. your interests.
The deputy governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector, José Bartolomeu Pedro, highlighted that the Angolan government is working on creating conditions that guarantee the right of every child, 'with the capacity for discernment', to be heard with respect for the general principle of 'child participation'.
“Listening to children presupposes ensuring their participation, as a right, and, through this, contributing to the formation of public opinion, with a view to resolving the problems that affect them in an inclusive way that contribute to the materialization of the 11 commitments to children.
At this meeting, aspects linked to the 11 commitments and the “Child Friendly” project were presented and discussed, which aim to increasingly bring public services, necessary to mitigate or reduce the dangers and social risks to which children are exposed, closer together.
The National Children's Meeting which takes place on the 28th of June, in Luanda, aims to promote the right of participation of children from a whole process of meetings in primary and secondary schools, in boarding schools, in communities and in elections in municipalities and provinces.
It also aims to revitalize the Children's Parliament, in the process of institutionalization, as a way of creating conditions that allow children's opinions to be periodically sought. CJ/IF/DOJ
