Luena - Angolans Don Rui Lopes and Dame Ivaniltan, accompanied by their godmother, Dame Maria Iracelma dos Santos, were invested as Knights of the Order of the Camino De Santiago, last Saturday (20), in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
Don Rui Lopes and Dame Ivaniltan are the most recent members of an order represented in Angola, since 2009, whose commander is D. José Alfredo Chingango “Ekwikwi”, and are part of, among other entities, the current Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, the head of CEAST, Dom Manuel Imbamba.
The highest ceremony of the XXIII General Chapter of Investiture was attended by representatives from 36 countries and 41 Dames and Knights were invested.
The ancient Order currently has 1552 members around the world and the Knights and Dames have the obligation to undertake the Camino de Santiago once in their lives, every year the Saints receive Jubilee graces and participate, as far as possible, in the events organized by the Order.
Maria Irecalma dos Santos, invested a year ago and godmother of the newly admitted, told ANGOP that the investiture of these two Angolans represents a greater commitment “to faith and the dissemination of the Gospel”.
“Belonging to an organization with great representation on all continents also allows us to reinvigorate knowledge based on the reality and experience of our counterparts”, reinforced the former Angolan rapper-style singer, known in these circles as Marita Vênus.
In Angola, the Order has D. José Alfredo Chingango “Ekwikwi” as Commander and 3 Extraordinary Investiture Chapters have already been held in Luanda with more than 60 Members and a Foundation to support social causes in Angola. YD/CF/DOJ
