Luanda - Angola is participating in the international film festival of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) held in one of the rooms of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), in Geneva (Switzerland), running until Friday.
Held under the motto “Celebrating the language and culture of the CPLP”, Angola is represented in the event by a delegation from the Permanent Mission of the country to the United Nations Office, led by the Permanent Representative of Angola, Margarida Izata.
Five confirmed countries - Brazil, Cabo Verde, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor-are also participating in the event, which started on the 13th June.
Angola which currently presides over the CPLP, opened the festival on 13th June with the film titled “Mais um dia de vida: Angola 1975”, meaning Another day of life Angola 1975”.
It is a film adaptation of the homonymous book by Polish journalist and writer, Ryszard Kapuscinski, deemed as one of the greatest war reporters of the 20th century.
The an hour and twenty-five minute film is the result of reports made by Polish journalist, Ryszard Kapuscinski, between April 25, 1974 and Angolan independence.
The film is a true historical account of the MPLA's efforts for Angola's independence told by the Polish journalist, General Farrusco and journalist Artur Queiroz.
