Luanda - Angola attends the 12th Session of the Working Group on Aging, going from 11-14 this month at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (US).
Participants will address topics such as the contribution of the elderly to the sustainable development, the promotion and protection of human rights as well as the old person in the covid-19 context.
The State Secretary for Family and Woman Promotion Elsa Barber, who will speak on behalf of Angola, will address topics such as the contribution of the elderly person to sustainable development.
The official is also expected to speak of the country’s experiences in terms of safety, protection and safeguarding of well being of this group of the society.
Barber will also focus on government projects aimed to empower the families and the integrated programmes to ensure the prevention, assistance and development of individuals and groups in vulnerable condition, woman promotion, gender equality and equity.
In a press release sent to ANGOP, the Ministry of Social Action, Family and Woman Promotion (MASFAMU), states that the Angolan delegation is tasked with promoting the initiatives of the State toward protection of the elderly and vulnerable families.
