Uíge – A total 519 people in various municipalities of the northern Uige province received free medical consultations Saturday, as part of an initiative by the Kilomosso Mother and Child Centre, in partnership with local National University Youth Movement.
Of the total number of citizens assisted, the health technicians registered 136 cases of malaria, 40 of high blood pressure, and vaccinated 43 patients against measles, tetanus and other diseases.
The campaign involved the participation of 21 health technicians, who carried out tests and consultations on malaria, high blood pressure and vaccinations against various diseases.
Speaking to the press, Doctor Albertina Mendes da Silva said the consultations would be extended to other municipalities in several municipalities of the province.
Silas Bernardo Zua, provincial coordinator of the National University Youth Movement of Angola, made a positive assessment of the activity, highlighting the good cooperation between the province's health units and the organization he leads.
The provincial branch of the National University Youth Movement of Angola has around 18,000 members, including graduates and nursing students. JAR/AMP
