Luena – MPs of the Moxico provincial constituency defended Tuesday in Luena, the need to build a pediatric hospital in the region to improve medical care and medication for children.
The MPs raised this concern after a visit to the Moxico General Hospital, where they noted the overcrowding in the pediatric ward.
Currently, the HGM's pediatrics department, which has capacity for 60 patients, has more than 80 children admitted with various pathologies, especially malaria, acute diarrhea, acute respiratory diseases and anemia.
The coordinator of the Moxico provincial constituency, Felino Job, promised to advocate to the government for a new pediatric unit to come into operation in the region, with a view to guaranteeing comfort for the little ones. MT/TC/YD
