Luanda - Angola has registered, in the last 24 hours, 221 new cases, 18 deaths and the recovery of 70 patients.
According to state secretary for public health, Franco Mufinda, 143 cases were diagnosed in Luanda, 38 in Huambo, 16 in Benguela, 10 in Cabinda, 6 in Huíla, 5 in Malanje, 2 in Bié and 1 in Uíge.
With ages ranging from four days to 87 years, the list includes 126 men and 96 women.
Franco Mufinda said that, amongst the deaths, nine were registered in Luanda, three in Cuando Cubango, two in Benguela, two in Uige, one in Bié and one in Malanje.
Among those recovered, he said, 17 were in Cuando Cubango, 17 in Benguela, 15 in Luanda, 10 in Bié, 6 in Moxico and 5 in Huíla.
According to the official, 332 patients are hospitalised, 219 are in institutional quarantine and 2,956 contacts of positive cases are under epidemiological control.
Laboratories processed, in the last 24 hours, 2,801 samples, with a daily positivity rate of 7.8 percent.
Angola has 52,644 cases, of which 1,409 have died, 46,106 have been recovered and 5,129 are active. Of those active, 38 critical, 44 severe, 163 moderate, 87 mild, 4,797 asymptomatic.
