Luanda - The Court of Auditors (TC) continues to play an irreplaceable role in maintaining and guaranteeing the rule of law in Angola, its presiding Judge Counsellor Sebastião Gunza said Wednesday in Luanda.
Speaking at the opening of the 23rd anniversary of the Court of Auditors to be marked on April 12, the magistrate said "nowadays, there are certainly several signs of progress and a better understanding of the vital role of the Court of Auditors within the state structure, as the main driving force behind the rule of law".
The magistrate spoke of the need to transform the progress that has been made into action to reinvent and strengthen the exercise of our competences.
"We are convinced that this modernization plan, boosted by digital and anchored in logic of simplification and innovation, can be a facilitating instrument," the magistrate said.
The magistrate believes that today, more than ever, "the court needs new ideas, which give it a horizon for the future, performed with efficiency and smoothness in its role as auditor of public accounts".
The day commemorating 23 years of the Angolan Court of Auditors is being held under the slogan "23 Years, Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Public Finances".
The three-day event, with guests from the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), will cover topics such as Good practices in budget execution, Results and benefits of auditing and The Court of Auditors' type of control over public contractual activity. CLAU/AC/AMP
