Luanda – President João Lourenço Tuesday promulgated the Law amending to the Organic Law entailing the organisation of general elections in Angola.
According to the President’s Civil Affairs Office, the decision followed the approval, in the second resolution, of the legal document by National Assembly.
The Parliament approved definitively last Wednesday the Draft Law amending to the Organic Law on General Elections at the request by the Head of State.
The Law was approved with 125 votes in favour, 47 against and no abstention.
The President’s Civil Affairs Office states that the move is meant to "strengthen, in some areas, the instruments that guarantee greater equality among the competitors.
