Luanda - President of the Republic João Lourenço Tuesday appointed Mário Augusto to the position of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola to Guinea-Bissau, according to a note from the Press Secretary of the President of the Republic.
Mário Augusto had been Press Attaché at the Permanent Mission of Angola to the United Nations, in New York (US), at the Angolan Embassy in Canada and in Cabo Verde.
He also served as director of the Communication and Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Until now, he was Minister Counselor of the Permanent Representation of Angola to the Community of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), in Lisbon, Portugal.
Graduated in Law and specialised in Law and Communication and in African International Relations from the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), Mário Augusto was also a journalist at the Angola Press Agency (ANGOP.E-P), where he was, among others, editor of the Political Desk.
He is the author of the book “The United Nations in the Context of International Law” and “The conflicts in Africa and the experience of Angola in their resolution”.
