Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Monday in Luanda congratulated the Government and the people of Ghana, on the occasion of the celebration of the 66th anniversary of the independence of that West African country.
In a message sent to his Ghana counterpart, Nana Akufo Addo, the Head of State stressed “the dynamics that Ghana has acquired internally” by highlighting the advances in matters related to economic and social development, as well as the deepening of democracy and fundamental freedoms of the Ghanaian people.
In the document, João Lourenço expressed Angola´s deep interest in expanding and strengthening the ties of cooperation and solidarity between both African countries, peoples and governments.
Ghana became the first country in Africa to win Independence from Britain on 6 March 1957.
