Luanda –President João Lourenço left the country this Tuesday for Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, for a two-day official visit to that European country, at the invitation of his counterpart, Petra Pavel.
At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Angolan Head of State, accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, was bid farewell by the Vice President, Esperança da Costa, and several other state personalities.
According to a note from the President’s Press Office, to which Angop had access, the visit programme includes talks between the presidential delegations of the two countries on Wednesday (21), as well as visits to the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Czech Republic.
According to the programme, João Lourenço is to meet with the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, in addition to being honoured with an official dinner by President Petra Pavel.
President João Lourenço is to leaves the city of Prague on Thursday, February 22nd.
The Czech Republic is a country in Central Europe, with a population of more than 10.7 million inhabitants.
Politico-diplomatic relations between Angola and Czechia date back to the Cold War period, when this country was linked to the Republic of Slovakia, then Czechoslovakia, having disintegrated on January 1, 1993.
