Ndalatando - The MPLA Provincial Committee in northern Cuanza-Norte started on Monday a public hearings program with citizens and local institutions, with the aim of resolving the problems that afflict the population.
The campaign Called "EME on the Move Public Hearings", the program is taking place simultaneously in all the municipalities of the province, on the initiative of the municipal committees and is part of the party's participatory governance agenda.
Opening the event, the MPLA's provincial first secretary, João Diogo Gaspar, explained that the aim is to ensure that the population has access to basic essential services, namely housing, drinking water, electricity and decent communication routes.
He pointed out that after listening to the population, a memorandum will be produced so that the government can find solutions to improve their social conditions.
For the politician, the problems that still exist in the province can be solved with the contribution of the population, which has always stood by the party at important moments in the country, such as the conquest of independence, peace and national reconciliation.
João Diogo Gaspar expressed the MPLA's intention to work with other political forces and organized citizens who want to collaborate with the institution.
When questioned by ANGOP, some citizens praised the party's initiative, which guarantees a closer relationship with the population.
Marcos da Conceição, one of the citizens received at the hearing, said that programs of this kind facilitate dialogue with public officials.
Among the concerns put forward by the citizens is the need to build more homes or provide space for housing, improve basic sanitation and access to bank credit for the business community. IMA/VIC/TED/AMP
