Ndalatando - The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, today pointed out agricultural production, especially family production, as one of the party's focuses for improving families' diets.
This action, he stated, also aims to combat malnutrition and maintain the physical and mental health of citizens.
According to the leader, who was speaking at the end of the IX Extraordinary Conference of the MPLA Municipal Committee in Cazengo (provincial headquarters), which aimed to elect Fernandino Leitão, in the position of first secretary of the party, replacing Malundo Catessamo.
João Diogo Gaspar indicated that the Executive is concerned about the economic situation of families, as a result of the global economic crisis.
For this reason, he designed a vast program to support the real economy with the granting of credits, the acquisition of inputs and agricultural instruments.
In addition to this program, the Government has been mitigating and finding quick solutions to solve citizens' day-to-day problems.
He said that he guided the first municipal secretaries, as municipal administrators, to develop social action, especially in pressing family issues such as agricultural production, primary health care, education, water, electricity and access roads.
The MPLA, he reinforced, has a well-structured program that aims to create basic social conditions for the population, in the most varied areas.
Meanwhile, João Diogo Gaspar asked the first secretaries to work with grassroots organizations and called for unity and cohesion in the party, so that the MPLA becomes increasingly prosperous and structured.
He appealed for the support of all members to the new party leaders to continue solving the population's most pressing problems and performing their duties with quality.
Fernandino Leitão was elected as first secretary of the MPLA in Cazengo, Maria de Lurdes Salgado (Lucala), Maria Mafuta (Samba Cajú), Sebastião Dambi (Ambaca), Manuel Gaspar (Ngonguembo), Vitória Braga (Bolongongo) and António Uatica (Cambambe).
