Luanda - The Minister of State for the Social Affairs, Maria do Rosário Bragança, considered Saturday, in Luanda, the holding of the High Level Women's Forum for the Great Lakes Region and the continent in general as a milestone.
Speaking at the end of the event, the minister said that it allowed an intense debate on various issues, exchanging experiences and reaffirming the need for women to participate effectively in the peace and national security process.
The minister added that the forum marked a crucial step towards peace and that it is expected the matters to be moved from dream to reality, having thanked President João Lourenço for his trust in the province of Luanda to host this forum supported by the African Union.
For the minister, the success of the forum will be measured in the practical results of the post-forum.
Maria do Rosário Bragança said they are confident that the determination of women will remain and reverse the difficult situation that leads to backwardness and impedes the development and prosperity of the people of the region.
The minister highlighted that women have managed to overcome obstacles and are the driving force for a prosperous, united and indivisible Africa, which is why she hopes that the seeds sown for the end of the armed conflict will grow and transform the people.
