Luanda - Angolan Head of State João Lourenço discussed Thursday with the chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, the reform process and other relevant issues of the organisation.
In the telephone conversation, the Angolan President and the high official of the AU also analysed matters related to stability in Africa, according to a note from the press secretary of the Presidency of the Republic.
Also according to the note, João Lourenço is attending Friday the Eighth Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
The meeting has the theme "Promoting the Implementation of the Pact on Peace, Stability and Development in the Great Lakes Region, Intensifying Regional Economic Cooperation and Development".
Taking place by videoconference, the summit discusses issues related to defence and security in the region, in addition to the “health situation in the full development period of Covid-19”, said the Press Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic.
