Cairo - Angolan ambassador to Egypt Nelson Cosme stressed the importance of peace in the country achieved on April 4, stating that the date represents a milestone of tolerance and magnanimity of Angolans, who together decided to embark on inclusive fraternity and solidarity for peace.
The Angolan diplomat was conveying a message to the Angolan community in Egypt, as part of the celebration of the 21st anniversary of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation.
The diplomat called for reflection around the event, stating that it should be remembered as a moment for a healthy coexistence every day, with no resentment and no regret.
“Only united is it possible to build peace and happiness for all and, therefore, make the country great”, he stressed.
"Twenty-one years of peace, building a better Angola, reminds us of the need to think about the reconstruction of Angola and contribute to improving the living conditions of all Angolans", he said, stressing that the moment should be used as an incentive for better days, through the reconstruction of social and economic infrastructures.
Supporting the Executive's efforts, he stressed, it is necessary to encourage the construction and reconstruction of more schools, hospitals, roads and other infrastructures as the main material gains of peace, which has also brought some social, political and economic stability to the country in recent years.
According to Nelson Cosme, for this path, each Angolan is called to work together for a better Angola.
“This date should remind us of the commitment to do everything possible so that peace and reconciliation are the appropriate ways to evaluate and seek the development of our country”, he concluded. VM
