Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço Friday approved the budget for the financing of the electoral campaigns of political parties and party coalitions competing for the general elections of 24 August.
According to a note from the Civil Affairs Office to the President of the Republic reached ANGOP, each competing political party approved by the Constitutional Court will receive 444.8 million kwanzas.
The source also states that the amount stems from the need to define the amount to be allocated, as public funding, to each competing candidacy, after approval by the Constitutional Court, to support the expenses of the electoral campaign.
It adds that the allocation of funds must occur until the fifth day after the released by the Constitutional Court of the final list of approved candidacies.
The approval of the amount took into account the inclusion in the General State Budget (OGE), in an election year, of an allocation to finance, in an equitable way, political parties and coalitions of political parties with candidacies definitively approved by the Institutional Court.
The country will hold its fifth general elections on August 24 this year.
So far, the MPLA, UNITA, CASA-CE, PHA), the FNLA, the PRS and the APN have already delivered their respective candidacies to the Constitutional Court.
