Benguela – Nineteen properties are registered in favor of the Angolan State, in the province of Benguela, as part of the legalizing their real estate assets, ANGOP learned.
Among the regularized properties are five covered by the Privatization Program (PROPRIV), namely the Hotel Infotur, two public supermarkets from the Nosso Super chain, in the cities of Benguela and Lobito, a corn factory in Cubal and the Agro-Industrial Compound in the municipality of Baía Farta.
The documents proving the regularization of these five properties were delivered this Thursday by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Marcy Lopes, to the administrator of the Institute for Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE), Augusto Caliquemala, on the sidelines of the presentation of the project to legalize the State's housing assets.
Previously, the holder of the Justice and Human Rights portfolio delivered to the provincial governor of Benguela, Luís Nunes, the documents certifying the regularization in favor of the State of 10 confiscated properties in this region of the country.
According to the coordinator of the provincial technical group for the regularization process of properties confiscated by the State and others covered by the Privatization Program, Mário Dória, it was found that there were four thousand and 823 confiscated properties and 18 properties at PROPRIV headquarters in Benguela.
The land registry registrar also said that of the 4,841 properties that needed legal regularization in Benguela, 19 projects were regularized in the name of the State.
“Approximately a month ago, that is, since January 2024, the total engagement of the technical group allowed the regularization on behalf of the State of 19 properties”, he highlighted, highlighting that four of these properties are already in the name of their respective owners.
These buyers, two from Benguela, one from Lobito and the other from Catumbela, also received today from the authorities the confiscation record with a land registration certificate in their favor, which gives them security and legal certainty.
More than 44 thousand properties identified
At a national level, 44 thousand and 481 properties were found to have been confiscated, as part of the work carried out by the technical group created to accelerate and monitor the process of regularization and legalization of confiscated and nationalized properties, and others covered by PROPRIV. .
According to the coordinator of the provincial technical group of this process, at the same time, 251 properties managed by the Institute for Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE) are in the privatization and liquidation phase.
It is in this context that he considers that the event, carried out in the province of Benguela, reflects the hard work of the vast technical team headed by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
