Luanda - Angolan Members of the Parliament (MP) recommended the adoption of strict measures so that budgeted units comply with accountability and within defined deadlines, under penalty of disciplinary liability.

The recommendation is expressed in the 2023 General State Budget Execution Report (OGE) for the third quarter, assessed Friday by the specialized committees of the National Assembly.

The legislators recommended to the Executive to complete the projects registered under the Public Investment Program (PIP) and the Integrated Program for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).

They also expressed the need to reduce public debt, in order to guarantee the sustainability of public finances.

The National Assembly also suggests that diamond revenue have a schedule in terms of sales prices, similar to oil revenue.

They also recommended greater speed in the process of granting loans to micro, small and medium-sized companies under the Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Substitution Program (PRODESI) throughout the national territory.

In the field of health, education and teaching, they recommended increasing training, capacity building and granting of scholarships and the process of including children in the pre-school education subsystem, with a view to reducing the school dropout rate.

They requested the improvement of general hospital services, public health, medical center and maternity services, as well as assistance, protection and reception actions for groups in extremely vulnerable situations (elderly people and people with disabilities).

The MPs also want attention to be given to the relocation of families living in extremely vulnerable situations in social housing projects.

Within the scope of the Kwenda Program, they recommended the intensification of household registration actions to streamline the process of monetary transfers to the neediest families.

The Members of the Parliament also suggested improving the general level of financial execution of justice administration bodies and related services, so that the sector's programs and goals are achieved.

On the other hand, the National Assembly recommended to the Executive to formalize the district courts as budgeted units in the State's Integrated Financial Management System (SIGFE), in order to adjust to the legal framework of the new judicial organization. DC/SC/ADR/DOJ
