Caxito – The parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) is visiting the commune of Caxito, in the northern Bengo Province, with the aim of listening to civil society organisations to collect contributions for the institutionalisation of local elections in Angola.
During six days, the MPs will meet with religious leaders, listen to the population and trade unions, carry out solidarity actions and visit the municipalities of Ambriz and Dande.
Speaking to the press, the coordinator of the group, MP Peregrino Isidro Wambu Chindondo, said that he was looking forward to the contributions of the inhabitants of Bengo on the subject.
He recalled that Bengo province was the cradle of several nationalists and UNITA considers it important to have the opinion of the population living in that region on the issues of the effective institutionalisation of local elections.
The delegation led by MP Peregrino Isidro Wambu Chindondo includes parliamentarians Clementina José da Silva, Moniz Alfredo and Joel Pacheco.
