Benguela - Officers of Customs Police Unit in coastal Benguela province have been urged to refrain from the acts of corruption and nepotism.
The call came from the provincial commander of the National Police in
Benguela, Commissioner Aristófanes dos Santos, during the celebration ceremony of the 27 anniversary of the Customs Fiscal Police held in Lobito municipality, coastal Benguela province on Monday.
The police commissioner urged the staff to control the fiscal and customs posts with an exemplary attitude, respect and enforce the law.
"They must continue to act against actions that harm the State, such as tax evasion, piracy, human trafficking, drug trafficking, violations of maritime and
fisheries regulations, illegal immigration, as well as smuggling, tax and customs violations", he stressed.
Aristófanes dos Santos said that the province of Benguela is home to the headquarters of the fourth region of the General Tax Administration (AGT), which covers the provinces of Cuanza Sul, Huambo and Bié.
In view of the role of the tax activity in the Gross Domestic Product of the nation, the Fiscal Police has the full responsibility of fulfilling the missions of the sector's specialty with the maximum efficiency required. CRB/TED/NIC
