Luanda - The Chief of General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Egídio de Sousa Santos, Wednesday ordered the Angolan Navy (MGA) staff to act with honesty and sincerity so that the new commander can successfully fulfil the recently assigned mission.
Egídio de Sousa Santos conveyed this order while presiding over the ceremony of transfer of command of the MGA, from the outgoing commander João Cunha Júnior to the new head Jorge Manuel dos Santos.
In his short speech, the chief of the FAA's General Staff praised the new commander for his record of service in the performance of his previous duties, with highlight to the combative actions in the city of Huambo, in the recent past.
He said he was convinced that the MGA would gain the necessary dynamics to carry out its mission of ensuring the defence of national waters.
He gave to the outgoing commander a word of appreciation for the work done and asked for readiness for the new challenges that may arise at any moment.
