Luanda - National Assembly approved 36 Laws and 49 Resolutions in the fifth and final year of the IV Legislature (2021-2022).
The Parliament approved, among others, the Laws for the Organisation and Operation of the Supreme Court, the Courts of Appeal, the Laws on the Law of Popular Action, the Amendment to the Angolan Criminal Procedure Code and the Law of the of Social Protection of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
Laws for the Amendment of National Police Posts and Badges and the Legal Regime for Public Appropriation, were also among the Laws approved during 2021-2022 legislative.
In the field of State Administration, the MPs passed the Organic Law on General Elections (Second Deliberation), the Law on Administrative Litigation Procedure, as well as the Civil Service Basic Law.
Likewise, the National Assembly gave green light to the legislative package for the Media (Amendment Law to the Law on Printing, on Radio Broadcasting Activity and on the Exercise of Television Activity).
As for the Economics, the legislators gave the thumbs up to the Laws of the Tax Benefits Code, Insurance and Reinsurance Activity and Merchant Marine and Related Activities.
In the area of health and sport, the emphasis went on the approval of the Law on Cremation and on Anti-Doping in Sport.
Resolutions were also approved for the accession or ratification of the Republic of Angola to international instruments, with stress to the Resolution approving the Agreement on Mobility between the States of the Community of the Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP).
Achievements of the National Assembly include the solemn meeting, on the occasion of the opening of the parliamentary year, on October 15, 2021, which was attended by President João Lourenço.
Other three meetings on the occasion of the State visits of the Persistents of Cabo Verde , José Maria Neves, from São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, and from Senegal, Mack Sall.
During the fifth Legislative session (corresponding to the fifth parliamentary year of the IV Legislature) 20 plenary meetings were held, seven ordinary, the same number of extraordinary, five solemn and one ordinary of the Interparliamentary Group of the National Assembly.
