Luanda - Angola has announced plans to contribute, as of May this year, about Euros 1 million to the project of the Portuguese Speaking African Countries (PALOP) working commission.
The contribution to the project, aimed at developing the history of liberation struggle of the organisation’s States members, was announced by the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Téte António made the announcement at the end of the virtual conference of Heads of State and Government of PALOP, held under the guidance of the Angolan President João Lourenço, the outgoing leader of the organisation.
Téte António put the commission’s costs at Euros 1.8 million, to be spent on the planned activities.
As for the results of Tuesday´s conference, the minister said that the commission decided on institutionalisation of regular ministerial meetings, covering the sectors of Education, Culture, Higher Education, Science and Technology at the PALOP Forum.
The event marked the end of the rotating presidency of Angola, with Cabo Verde taking over until 2023.
PALOP comprises Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Principe and Mozambique.
