Addis Ababa - Angola is expected to host in the second half of this year the 12th meeting of the high-level dialogue on democracy, governance, human rights, trends, challenges and prospects and its pre-events dedicated to youth and women, under an annual initiative of the African Union (AU).
According to a press release issued by the Angolan Embassy in Ethiopia that has reached ANGOP, this year's high-level dialogue is also part of the agenda of the AU Champion for peace and reconciliation in Africa, the President of Angola, João Lourenço.
As part of the preparation of the forum, the Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia and permanent representative to the AU, Francisco José da Cruz, met this Friday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with Ambassador Salah Hammaad, acting head of the Secretariat of the African Governance Architecture (AGA).
The high-level dialogue will be attended by current and former African Heads of State and Government, representatives of AU organs and institutions, regional economic communities, UN agencies and the private sector.
AU thematic champions, leaders of civil society organisations, including youth and women's networks, artists and other social and development partners will also participate in the work of the forum, which will be held in four of the six official languages of the continental organisation, namely Portuguese, English, French and Arabic.
