Luanda - The Regional Economic Governance Programme for Portuguese-speaking Countries and East Timor (PALOP-TL), in partnership with the National Assembly (AN), is taking place this Tuesday in Luanda Province, ANGOP has learned.
According to a press release, the workshop to formulate the multiannual work plan (2024-2026) of the PALOP-TL Programme aims to strengthen the Public Finance Management and Budget Monitoring Systems.
The initiative also aims to bring together the programme's main beneficiaries and partners in a participatory and inclusive process to formulate an Annual Work Plan (AWP) for a 3-year period in each beneficiary country.
In addition, PALOP-TL also aims to promote regional integration and economic cooperation between the participating countries, stimulating trade and business partnerships.
Through the exchange of information and the creation of joint initiatives, the aim is to boost economic growth and sustainable development in the region.
The PALOP-TL Regional Economic Governance Programme is an important initiative to strengthen economic cooperation and promote the sustainable development of the States Parties.
With the support of various international cooperation partners, this programme aims to help improve public policies and strengthen institutional capacities, thus promoting an environment favourable to economic growth and the well-being of the population.
It should be noted that Angola will be the third country to hold the workshop to formulate these annual national work plans, which allow direct consultation with all the identified beneficiaries.
The third phase of Pro PALP-TL will be attended by national and foreign personalities, especially representatives of international organisations.
PALOP is the name given to a regional cooperation group that brings together Portuguese-speaking African countries, namely Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
