Huambo - The administrators of the municipalities of Longonjo (Huambo), Cangandala (Malanje), Cahama (Cunene), Uíge and Luanda on Friday shared their strategic vision on the applicability of public policies, with a focus on good governance.
This took place during a discussion on the "Experiences and Lives of Young Leaders in Governance", as part of the First National Workshop on this theme, organized by the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MAT) held in Huambo province.
The municipal managers defended the need to pay more attention to the ongoing training of public administration staff, with investments in the energy and water sectors, communication systems, road improvements and basic sanitation.
Agriculture and farming, urbanization projects and the need to raise financial revenue from mineral resources as priorities for social and economic progress, were points shared during the event.
It also emphasized the need to "fine-tune" the effective control of the financial revenue collection process to increase social and economic projects, with direct repercussions on the lives of residents.
Wilne Ekuikui, administrator of Longonjo municipality, suggested capturing and directly benefiting from the financial revenue resulting from the exploitation of "Rare Earths" and other mineral resources, in favor of collective well-being.
The official defended the need for more investment in the agricultural sector, to help improve food security and reduce the price of the basic food basket, with the involvement of farming families.
Cangandala municipality administrator, Dilangue Domingos, on his turn said administrative authorities are committed to promote agriculture and livestock to achieve sustainable development, as well as a campaign to raise awareness about children dropping out of school to consistently build local cadres.
The official underscored the need for the municipality to invest in the expansion of electricity supply, improving access roads and in the continuous training of human resources to provide quality service to the public. LT/JSV/ALH/TED/AMP
