Luanda - Petro de Luanda play Interlube on Tuesday, for the dispute of the final of the National Senior Male National Basketball Championship in the best of five games play-offs, at a time when the main aim is the African Basketball League (BAL), set to happen as from 16 to 30 May in Kigali, Rwanda.
The game will take place at 7 pm at Kilamba Arena.
Under the command of coach José Neto, Petro de Luanda players are usually part of the National Team, such as Carlos Morais, Leonel Paulo, Childe Dundão, Gerson Domingos, Gerson Lukeny, Jone Pedro and Valdelício Joaquim.
The quality of this group of players, mainly due to the motivational level that it presents, makes it possible to foresee a demolishing Petro in this "play offs".
Indeed, the task may not seem easy, but it would be almost a "miracle" for Interclube, aspiring for the title, to win the championship against this opponent with a collection of 13 trophies.
Even so, Interclube, led by the renowned Coach Raúl Duarte, will always have a word to say, including causing some surprise, for such counting on the American player Carren Wilson Jr, who has been the main one responsible for the good campaign of the squad, with more than 20 points per match.
Interclube qualify for the national championship final sixteen years later. They beat 1º de Agosto 2-1 (the most titled team in Angolan and African basketball with 19 national and 9 continental trophies) in the semi-finals. Xinhua
