Luanda – MP Higino Carneiro released this Thursday his book entitled “Memórias, Soldado da Pátria” (Memories, Soldier of the Homeland), which portrays the history of Angola, from the guerrilla period to national reconstruction, through the life of a general officer.
With 384 pages, the book required the author to “travel through" the history of Angola, placing great emphasis on national reconciliation that culminated in the country's reconstruction process.
The presentation of the book, released at the António Agostinho Neto Memorial, in Luanda, was made by the scholar Boaventura Cardoso, in a ceremony that was attended by members of the government, political organizations and officials from the various branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), among other guests.
However, during the book´s presentation, Higino Carneiro said that he intends to contribute, in a particular way, so that the country's political history can be known, especially by younger people.
Despite being a general, who participated in almost all processes or initiatives for peace in Angola, Higino Carneiro claims to be deeply influenced by the status of negotiator in the 1992 process, at the time of the implementation of the Bicesse Accords for peace in Angola.
The book also highlights the memories about Lusaka Protocol in Zambia, in addition to being a key element in the understanding of the Luena Agreement in easten Moxico Province, an addendum to the first agreement.
