Luanda – The first edition of the "Africell Luanda Art Fair" takes place from the 19th to the 21st of this month, in Luanda, with the participation of one hundred Angolan artists, informed the event's producer, Dominick Maia Tanner.
The edition will last three days and will address topics linked to art, namely “the challenges facing galleries in Angola”, “The need for an art museum”, “Formalization of artistic work for the national economy” and “The feminine in Angolan art”.
At a press conference, held in Luanda at Palácio de Ferro, the venue that will host the event, the producer said that the aim is to project the country to the world, encouraging the consumption of art made in Angola.
He highlighted that the moment will also serve to promote cultural tourism and formalize the work of visual artists.
As for investment, the producer advanced around 20 million Kwanzas, financed by the mobile operator and sponsoring companies.
For the director of partnerships at the Africell Angola Group, Mário do Nascimento, the action is part of the company's social responsibilities.
He spoke about promoting local artists, increasing the production of national content and promoting the artistic and cultural industry.
In turn, the general director of Palácio de Ferro, João Vigário, was satisfied, having considered the project an important action for the creation of cultural phenomena and development of the industry.
