Luanda – At least 307 children with special educational needs will participate on December 12 to 19 this year, in an arts festival of inclusion dubbed Nzoji ya Monandenge (meaning Dream of a Child in the national vernacular Kimbundu), the director of the project, Solange Feijó, said Thursday.
Solange Feijo explained that the event will take place at the Brazil Angola Cultural Center and Angolan League of Friendship and Solidarity with the Peoples (LAASP) and that the show includes dance, music, plastic arts and acrobatics.
The festival aims to give voice to children with physical, visual, hearing and autistic special needs, as a result of the work done with students of special education schools, who enjoy art, regardless of their situation.
With free access, the festival will honour the Centenary of the first president of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, having as its motto "Experience of Agostinho Neto.
During the show, the Angolan actress Dicla Burity and the musician Manuel Mendes will provide the children with information about their respective areas of performance.
The event is organized by the theater company “Teatro Sol”, a cultural institution with different cultural areas, which brings together 50 actors, of whom 34 are children.
