Talatona - Agostinho Neto University (UAN) has made available a total of 4,605 places for the 2024/2025 academic year for roughly 10,118 applicants, the institutional coordinator for Access to Higher Education, Fernanda Benedito, said Thursday.
Fernanda Brito said 2,475 places are for the regular period and 2,130 for the after-school period, distributed among 42 courses offered by the institution and that the access exams will take place on August 19 to 21 in Luanda, at the University Campus.
Fernanda Benedito revealed that at least 12,381 applicants have been enrolled, adding that the most sought courses is law, with 1,658 applications, while Philosophy had the lowest demand, with 60 applications.
According to Fernanda Benedito, admissions follow Presidential Decree 5/19, which regulates access to higher education. The process includes reserving 3 percent of places on each course and period for former combatants, descendants of fallen or perished combatants.
She explained that candidates with special educational needs are entitled to 5% of the places, and another 5% are reserved for candidates with international agreements between Angola and other countries.
According to the UAN's official, applicants must have at least 10 marks to apply for a place in the university to take place online, 24 hours a day.
The UAN is made up of ten Organizational Units, seven Faculties, two Institutes and a School.
The university offers 47 bachelor's degree courses, eight bachelor's degree courses to train teachers for vocational education, funded by the Technical Education and Vocational Training Revitalization Program (RETFOP), 13 specialization courses, 31 master's degree courses and eight doctoral degree courses.
The institution currently has a student population of over 23,000.
