Caála - The Virtual School project, being implemented at the 'Augusto Ngagula' School Compound, in the municipality of Caála, Huambo province, in an initiative of UNITEL, has achieved satisfactory results in two years of implementation, ANGOP learned on Tuesday.
The fact was made public by the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Education Office in the province of Huambo, Graciano Sacalei Freitas, regarding a technical visit by the project's sponsors, which covered, in this pilot phase, only two schools across the country.
On the occasion, Graciano Sacalei Freitas said that it goes smoothly, and that, in the current school year, it covered hundreds of students from 4th to 9th grades, who learn various content through a properly monitored system.
Through this program, he added, students from schools No. 1 'Augusto Ngangula' access the virtual school at any time, an innovative and advantageous fact for the teaching/learning process.
Therefore, he valued the choice of the province of Huambo and the municipality of Caála, in particular, for the pilot project, as it encourages UNITEL's continuous commitment and partnership in Angolan general education.
It ensured a greater engagement of the Education sector, the Caála Administration, teachers, parents and guardians in the achievement of the objectives of this program.
Meanwhile, UNITEL's technical team hopes for greater synchrony between all those involved in the project, whose expansion across the country depends largely on the success of the pilot schools in the provinces of Bié and Huambo.
In two years of implementation, in addition to the training of teachers, the initiative provided tablets, computers and a corporate internet distribution system.
Each medium is designed to be shared by two students and, at the same time, the trained teachers have the mission of disseminating knowledge to others, in favor of the challenges of the program.
UNITEL is the largest mobile telephony network in Angola, whose commitment to the highlighted project is part of its social responsibilities. MLV/ALH/DOJ
