Ndalatando - Twenty-three new highly trained teachers will be hired, in the next academic year, at the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Ndalatando (ISPNd), in the province of Cuanza-Norte.
The fact was announced today, Wednesday, in this city, by the institution's vice-president for academic affairs and student life, Lucas Piedade Cassinda.
He highlighted that the increase in teaching staff has been a fundamental part of the institution's growth strategy, in pursuing the path of excellence and innovation that is inherent to it.
Speaking to ANGOP, he informed that the placement of new teachers was authorized by the Ministry of Higher Education, within the framework of the public competition, whose registrations take place from the 15th to 31st of this month.
He informed that it is open to candidates with an average of 14 or more, and the same applies to the subjects they propose to teach, who demonstrate skills in at least two subjects.
Lucas Piedade Cassinda said that the institution needs 49 highly trained teachers and 23 vacancies were authorized, an insufficient number to meet the institution's demand.
He pointed out that the entry of new teachers will alleviate the institution's dependence on contracted teachers, increase the training offer, mainly in the creation of new courses, and admit more students.
Electrical Engineering and Law are the courses with the greatest shortage of teachers.
Since 2011, ISPNd has been teaching courses in Public Administration, Accounting and Management, IT Management, Clinical Analysis and Public Health.
For the current academic year, the institution enrolled 2,343 students, with a teaching staff made up of 66 teachers, 37 and 27 permanent and non-permanent, respectively.
