Huambo - The Secretary of State for Pre-school and Primary Education, Pacheco Francisco, reaffirmed Tuesday in Huambo, the Angolan government's commitment to include people with special needs in its policies.
The official, who was speaking on the sidelines of a regional methodological meeting for the exchange of experience in inclusive special education, said that the Ministry of Education was continuing its efforts to meet the challenges of implementing the special education policy aimed at school inclusion.
He said that the adoption of this policy aims at paying more attention to children with special needs and increasing access to education at the level of general education schools.
In this context, he continued, the intention is to ensure that at provincial level, besides the specific schools, there are more school institutions that guarantee the attendance of children with special needs and guarantee their right to education.
According to the Secretary of State, Pacheco Francisco, without giving details, the results achieved so far are encouraging, but it is necessary to develop more actions that may facilitate the attainment of the proposed objectives.
