Dundo – At least 469 new trainee assistants will be hired in the coming months, as a result of the public recruitment underway in the country to fill vacancies in some universities.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria Bragança, during the laying of the first stone for construction of the Dundo university campus in Lunda Norte province, stressing that universities with a significant shortage of teachers would be given priority, including Lueji A'nkonde University.
Without giving a deadline for the registration, the Cabinet official said that for the Lueji A'nkonde University, 56 vacancies are available.
She assured that the recruitment will be rigorous in order to attract the best, taking into account the quality of education that is intended at this level.
She appealed to the staff of Lunda Norte and the rest of the country to apply, assuring that the Angolan government would continue to create policies so that when they are admitted they are retained and increasingly valued.
Angolan public higher education has eight public universities and seven public higher institutes, where some 50,000 students are enrolled.
