Cuango - A university campus will be built this year in Luzamba locality, Cuango municipality, in Lunda Norte province, as part of the decentralisation of higher education in the area, local governor Ernesto Muangala said Tuesday.
Ernesto Muangala, who was speaking at the opening of a meeting on citizenship and public security in Cafunfo, explained that funding for construction of the campus, the first in the eastern region, was being negotiated.
Without giving technical and architectural details of the future campus, he said that it would contribute to the diversification of courses, mainly technical, in the province of Lunda Norte.
He also announced that the former Cuango Higher School had been transformed, via a presidential decree, into a Higher Polytechnic Institute and would, from now on, provide courses in agricultural sciences, geology, mining and nursing.
