Mbanza Congo - Five hundred and 47 labor infractions, out of the thousand and 581 recorded in 2023, in the province of Zaire, are linked to the trade sector, representing a reduction, compared to the year 2022, which registered 752 transgressions in this area, according to the local Inspectorate General Labor Office.

According to António Nsediolanda Júnior, the reduction of these transgressions in the trading sector is due to the increase in legal culture in working matters by workers, the result of the campaigns of public labor campaigns carried out in the region.

Alongside the trading sector were also recorded 481 labor offenses in the service provision, 186 in construction and 144 industry transgressions, which resulted from 257 inspectional actions carried out by the IGT, during the period under analysis. In 2023, 1,581 infractions were registered, against the 2 333 irregularities accounted for in 2022.

Speaking to ANGOP on Friday, in Mbanza Congo, IGT coach António Júnior said their offenses covered a thousand and 772 workers from the private business sector.

He said that the irregularities recorded are related to failures in terms of contracts, poor hygiene conditions and safety at work, lack of workers' registration at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) and non-compliance during work hours.

In the field of safety, hygiene and health at work, at the Zaire province level, the source revealed that a death and seven injured, one of which in serious condition, as a result of a work accident occurred in the municipality of Soyo, was registered in the municipality of Soyo, involving a construction company.

Regarding labor conflicts, he stressed that 84 requests deserved the intermediation of the IGT, and 73 cases were resolved, of which 67 in favor of workers and six for the benefit of employers. Da/PMV/QCB/DOJ
