Luanda - The Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, Ottoniel dos Santos, announced on Tuesday the privatization of 26 public assets on the Stock Exchange this year (2024), as part of the sale program of the Institute for Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE).

Ottoniel dos Santos highlighted that Unitel, Banco Fomento Angola (BFA) and Ensa are among the 26 State assets selected to be privatized.

This decision results from the 1st meeting of the year of the National Interministerial Commission for the Privatization Program (PROPRIV), which also determined the sale of the State's stake in Stander Bank Angola, based on an acceleration mechanism created for processes adjacent to privatization. , through the initial public offering procedure.

The assets to be privatized this year also include the Complexo de Frio, Cerâmica de Sassa Zau, Armazém do Chimbodo and Moageira, all located in the province of Cabinda.

In this regard, the Secretary of State explained that the processes for Cabinda's assets are in the final phase, which should end in the first quarter of this year.

According to the official, without defining the amounts that the State intends to raise from the sale of the 26 assets, CRÊ (through BPC) and the 39 hotels in the UI network, as well as the four units associated with China International, will be privatized this quarter. Fund Limited (CIF).

Throughout the year, the official explains, other assets will be put up for sale, such as those linked to the financial sector, with emphasis on the Angola Debt and Stock Exchange (BODIVA), which will open its capital to the participation of new investors.

The National Interministerial Commission includes officials from various ministerial departments, namely the ministries of Finance, Planning, Commerce and Industry, Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Transport, the National Bank of Angola, IGAPE, Sonangol E.P. as well as other institutions involved in the implementation of PROPRIV.OPF/AC/DOJ
